Our Story

The Customized Ride was never supposed to become just another automotive page.

Honestly, when this journey first started, we were simply filming vehicles we loved and sharing moments from automotive events that caught our attention.

At the time, we had already spent years building and hosting The Chris & Sandy Show, where we interviewed hundreds of guests across the entertainment world. That experience taught us something important:
people connect to stories far deeper than they connect to polished headlines.

Eventually, that same mindset found its way into automotive culture.

On October 15, 2022, The Customized Ride officially launched.

At first, it was simple.
Go to shows.
Film cool vehicles.
Capture the atmosphere.
Post content.
Repeat.

But somewhere along the way, something bigger started happening.

The more events we covered, the more we realized automotive culture was never only about the vehicles themselves.

It was about:
the people behind them.
The builders.
The families.
The memories.
The friendships.
The road trips.
The late nights in garages.
The stories connected to every custom ride sitting in a parking lot or rolling down the highway.

Over time, The Customized Ride began growing into something much deeper than we originally imagined.

Today, the brand reaches more than 500,000 followers across platforms and generates more than 3 million monthly views across social media while continuing to grow into a larger automotive culture media ecosystem.

But even with that growth, we still believe the most important part of this journey has never been the numbers.

It has been the experiences.

Some of our favorite moments have happened in between the content.

The long drives to events.
The exhaustion after walking tens of thousands of steps covering shows all weekend.
The random conversations with people who started as strangers and became friends.
The stories quietly shared beside vehicles that meant something deeply personal to their owners.

That realization slowly started shaping the future direction of this brand.

Today, The Customized Ride is evolving into much more than a social media page.

We are building:

  • recurring storytelling series
  • YouTube programming
  • editorial features
  • event coverage
  • community-driven automotive storytelling
  • merch
  • future live experiences
  • and a long-term automotive culture media platform

At the center of that evolution is our growing “Behind the…” storytelling ecosystem:

Behind the Ride

Focused on the journey behind this brand itself, including the father-and-son experiences, road trips, lessons, and memories built along the way.

Behind the Build

Focused on the craftsmanship, fabrication, and technical side of custom vehicles.

Behind the Builder

Focused on the people and stories behind the builds themselves.

Behind the Show

Focused on the events, organizers, atmosphere, and communities bringing automotive culture together.

Because the older we get, the more we realize this culture is about far more than horsepower.

It is about connection.

The Customized Ride operates under:

Rolling Legacy Media

Alongside:

  • Hot Classic Rides
  • Heavy Load Trucks

This is a family-driven media company built around passion, storytelling, and culture.

My son Lil Chris and I travel together covering events throughout the Southeast while continuing to grow this platform side-by-side. As the brand evolves, Sandy and Katelynn will also help expand the event and community side of the ecosystem through merch booths, live events, and future experiences.

We believe automotive culture is still one of the few things capable of bringing generations together around shared passion.

And honestly, that belief is shaping everything we build moving forward.

The goal has never been to become the loudest page online.

The goal is to build something people genuinely feel connected to.

Something built around:
great vehicles,
great people,
great stories,
real relationships,
and the culture that continues bringing it all together.

Because at the end of the day, cars may bring people in.

But stories are what make people stay.
